Medical Biotechnology and Biomedical Engineering
Medical biotechnology is applied to produce pharmaceuticals- vaccines, antibiotics, enzymes, insulin, monoclonal antibody using living cells and cell materials for research. Biomedical engineering integrates the engineering science and clinical practice. This session will focus on the current research topics on pharmacology, gene therapy for diseases and tissue engineering, bio amplifiers, artificial limbs and prostheses, diagnostic imaging and therapeutic devices, biosensors, implanted devices, artificial tissues and computational medicine.
