Santosh Ramchuran has over 25 years of experience in the Biotechnology sector having held positions at various local biotech industries. He is a successful leader in science and technology with proven abilities in developing, implementing, and commercializing innovative technologies, products, and bioprocesses. Santosh holds an MSc in Biotechnology and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Lund University (Sweden). He is the author and contributor to several peer-reviewed papers in biotechnology. He serves on various research and evaluation panels including the National Research Foundation and provides mentorship to Biotech startups and is a member of the review committee for the sub-Saharan L’Oréal Women in Science Awards. He is also appointed as a Research Fellow at the University of KwaZulu Natal. He is currently a Research Group Leader and Principal Scientist of the Bioprocessing Group at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research in South Africa, focusing on disruptive bio-based innovations and bio-manufacturing.
